Simple Mexican Tomato Sauce


  • 3 medium-large tomatoes or 1 jar tomato puree
  • 1/2 white onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp cumin, ground
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp cilantro, chopped


Combine all ingredients except for cilantro in a food processor, blend until smooth.

Heat oil in a medium pan, add sauce and stir until hot.

Remove from heat, add in cilantro and season to taste.
