Slice strawberries and mix with the blueberries. Sprinkle with a tablespoon of sugar. Cover and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
To make the biscuits, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in the butter with two knives. Add the egg and milk, and stir until combined. Mix in about two shakes of nutmeg and lemon rind to taste. Bake at 450 for about 15 minutes. Spoon strawberries over biscuits, and add fresh whipped cream.
